This sector group represents members involved in General Freight-  Everything else no one else wants to take, on any vehicle suitable, from vans to box body trucks, flat decks to curtain siders

Operating locally , Regionally and Nationally.

Group Priorities

Driver Shortage – Immigration pathway, Driver licence Class & End Review, NZTA / MOT DL Review

Extreme Weather Events –  Resilience of the network, Network closures, HPMV Detours & Infrastructure improvements Renewals & Upgrades, Communications of issues – duration  closures

Disruption to Supply chain –  Interislander ferries – Service cancelations , staffing , breakdowns etc.
Overdimension loads on HPMV – Urgent prompt resolution sought when issue advised

Immigration Pathway for HV Drivers 2022/23 – 4300 Brought in – Currently closed-  Future issue.
Driver Licensing Review –  Consultation and review of all DL Classes, Endorsements & Eligibility

Carriage of Goods Terms & Conditions – Launched 2024.
