Northland Freight Forum Update – SH1 Brynderwyn Hills and upcoming CVSC construction

The latest Northland Freight Forum meeting was well attended by a number of regional stakeholders including all of the Regional Road Controlling Authorities, Maintenance Contractors, a team from NZTA with updates on current projects and the upcoming Maintenance season for 2025 – 2026, NZ Police and Regional CVST staff, as well as industry representatives.

Key points to note and dates for upcoming works etc.

  • Northland region will have another full maintenance programme scheduled for the upcoming season. See the link below for updates

  • SH1 Brynderwyn Hills the final resurfacing project will complete the works left over from last years major repairs. 2 x Short – sharp 4 day full weekend closures will take place later this year from (Nov 13th to 16th ) and (Nov 20th to 23rd) The detour will be the same as last years.

New CVSC site construction starting in 2026

You will see the new Weigh in Motion systems start to be installed over the coming months in the Northland Region. Installations will be on SH1 Northbound & Southbound of the intersection with SH15 and on SH 15 Westbound from Marsden Point.
