The Endowment Committee is a sub-committee of Transporting New Zealand established to manage and distribute funds previously held by former RTA regional associations, including awarding grants.
Applications can be made by Transporting New Zealand members (including on behalf of others) and Transporting New Zealand Sector Groups.
Applications for this funding round must be received on or before Friday 5 June 2026.
Examples of previous grants include supporting young drivers to attend Street Smart driver education courses, and the Port & Intermodal Group’s development of a stacker and lifter good practice guide.
Grants must protect, promote, or advance the road freight industry, such as through:
- Advocacy or industry representation
- Safety, environmental or innovation initiatives
- Technical research or policy engagement
- Sector-wide information sharing or communications
- Education and training support
- Industry-relevant scholarships, training support and/or development
- Resources for TNZ members, their employees, and supply chain partners
The Endowment Committee will not consider funding applications for:
- Political parties
- Activities unrelated to the road freight industry
- Retrospective projects (where funds have already been spent)
- Debt repayment or debt reduction
- Transporting New Zealand staff expenses, salaries, payments, or general business operating expenses
All funding requests must be submitted in writing on the Endowment Committee approved application form below.
Outcomes of the funding round will be notified to applicants in June or July.
